In researching the model I found a great channel called Living With A Classic including a 4.2 head stripdown carb tuning and other well shot and informative stuff including insight into the long stud version. Mostly based on an S2 that appears to have a later engine with the lateral cooling passages between the bores. They guy also has an XJ12 and XJ-S.
