Hi all
I’m looking for advice on how to replace my Aerial cable which runs from the radio to the Aerial on the back wing
Can this be threaded through by attaching to the existing cable or do you need to remove parts of the interior?

Since these rarely require to be changed unless damaged during a restoration, I suspect you might struggle to find someone who has done it. Most of the wiring harness does require interior trim removal before it can be changed so I suspect the aerial wire will be no different. In fact, I think I recall that the aerial wire is taped into position in places so, if nothing else, you would need to get at the tape to peel it off. Mike.

As I'm in the process of stripping my car I've got to this cable but not yet extracted it. I can however see that it runs down the left hand side of the car. Assuming you have a RHD car with the aerial mounted on passenger rear quarter. At a minimum you will need to remove the panel that contains a vent on the side of the transmission tunnel and unless you have reasonably small hands extract the radio by removing the heater controls to unplug it from the radio. The heater controls are held in place by a special nut that needs very thin long nosed pliers or a special tool that I'm yet to discover to be inserted into the two grooves on the top.
You will also need remove the panel under the glove box. From there it runs under the carpet and through a plastic conduit under the back seat base making its up around the wheelarch behind the rear doorcard to the boot entry point for wiring behind a metal box that is riveted in place. The rear seat back will have to come out but you may be able to leave the doorcard in.
Once into the boot you need to remove the panel that is under the rear parcel shelf that is held in place by the tension from a bent piece of wire and then another piece of board that covers the back of the boot. The side panel to the boot is screwed into the floor at the bottom and tucks under tangs at the top and this will need to come out also. Finally take the left hand rear light cluster off and you should be at the other end.
