Pre HE emisssion control labels

Postby mike020150 » Sun Oct 23, 2016 10:12 am

Here's something which might interest owners with a passion for under bonnet polishing and original details. I have been looking for a replacement emissions control label (the one which has basic engine tuning data) for an early fuel injected V12 car. Reproduction labels seemed to be available for 1978 onwards vehicles (XJ-Ss and V12 saloons are the same). However, the later label is identical except for the spark plug gap measurement. Later cars use a 33thou to 38thou gap but early cars and their labels featured a 25 thou gap. After an approach to Classic reproductions Ltd, the good news for early car owners is that the company has agreed to also reproduce the early label. It may not be listed yet on their website (www.classicrepro.co.uk) but it will carry the part number ST445 (the later label is part number ST440). Mike.
