One of the hazards of the switches (and to a lesser extent the dials) in a Series 2 is that the silver effect finish around the edge wears away with use by touch.
Does anyone have a solution for how to restore the silver effect please?
Any ideas welcome.

No replies to my post in ten years
I will respond myself however…

Early results in touching in the missing / faded bits of “chrome” around the series 2 dials is very promising. Can recommend it.

Hi Jaguar Enthusiast, Sounds like a plan you have there. However, I was recently watching a newer episode of Wheeler Dealers and I am sure Elvis, or perhaps it was Mike, took chrome parts in need of replating to a paint shop who applied a spray-on chrome, which looked the business.
Unfortunately I didn't pay that much attention as none of my cars have chrome, therefore I can't tell you which episode to search out, but it may have been the one with the original Mini. In any event, it is definitely from the latest series - series including the Fiesta getting stolen.
A paint on chrome sounds pretty good for internal switches.
