I once owned this car, a '73 4.2 SWB with manual/overdrive gearbox, from 1996 until 2017. I then sold it to a JEC member in Nottingham.

By summer 2019 'CVJ' had found its way up to North Yorkshire, where it was then for sale with a classic car specialist...

A couple of years later I came upon my old XJ6 again, this time for sale in Glasgow. By then it had changed colour, and seemingly lost its windscreen wipers, but it was definitely the same car!

Then on Monday this week, my son Tom found himself being overtaken by 'CVJ' as he was driving to work in Gloucester. Apparently it looks well riding on its new Kent alloys!

So, the old XJ6 is now back within 20 miles of where we live. The question being is it local, or was it just passing through? I'd love to find out. Does anybody know who currently owns it?

A great story of tracking persistence for a favourite machine. I hope you manage to solve the latest mystery. :) Mike.
