Our series 3 3.4 has had loads of work done on it over the past 7 years or so. At present, we are experiencing a new twist: the paint shop is too busy to complete the bonnet repaint. Recession? What recession? This chap is so busy he can't organise his way out of a paper bag.
He is supposed to be repainting the bonnet I bought at Stoneleigh (and spent hours re-finishing and de-rusting it.) However, he is too busy to do the job which is typical as I handed him the bonnet 6 weeks ago thinking he would get it done in time for my Easter holiday. Fat chance! This is why it so annoying - I just can't believe some folk: they take on work and say yes they can do it when the KNOW they CAN'T. The trouble is, he is colour matching the bonnet to the car using his computer to match the wing he repainted before Christmas. He knows I want him to do the job because he does a good job - normally quickly! Idiot. rant over - sorry folks!

6 weeks, I'd kill for that time scale, my ex press XJR manual M64 FVC has been with my guy for THREE YEARS, with no sight in end despite almost weekly visits, in fact its been there that long it lives there and even sits up and begs for a bone when I go to visit!!

Re: Just SO annoying!
I asked when could he do the job, he said 3-4 weeks, I took the bonnet in to him as agreed on the 4th week, assuming he had the time to do it. Clearly he hasn't which is a pity as he has done 3 other jobs, on time, amounting to over £1000. It's good work too so I was hoping for a reasonable turn around so I could get it assembled and back home for an MOT. I guess I'll have to be patient if I want a proper colour mix. At least it's not 3 years!

I've given up - I'm collecting the bonnet unpainted on wed. He can go under for all I care!

Never mind, it will all be worthwhile in the long run!
