XJ12 S1 registration TJD 234M & restoration parts required

Postby richardpierce » Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:21 pm

I am just starting to restore a Dark Blue XJ12 S1 SWB and wondered if the member who owns TJD 234M would be kind enough to send me any photos of their car to richardapierce@hotmail.co.uk as it always helps to look at what other people have done with their Jaguars.

I will probably be asking many questions along the way, so any photographs to start with would be much appreciated.

Also I am looking for various panels / parts - new or good qualty used if anyone can help, starting with the following;

1no NSF wing
1no Front valance
1no Rear centre valance
1pr Outer sills SWB
1pr Inner sills SWB (possibly)
1pr Front sill end caps
1pr Rear sill end caps
1no OSR arch repair section
1pr Rear doors or skins SWB (possibly)

1no Tray that sits under centre of dash
1no Black ski slope with electric window switches
1no Black radio / heater surround

1pr Petrol filler caps
1no Lower front grill
1pr Lower bonnet grills
1set Gutter chromes
1pr Wing chromes for bonnet
1pr Jaguar wing badges with rubber backs
4no Chrome slotted wheels (with or without centre caps)
1pr Chrome outer headlight surrounds (the ones that are seen in the front wings)
1pr Chrome inner headlight surrounds (the ones that are seen in the bonnet)
1pr Chrome curly tailpipes (no flange)

1set Carpets - Originally they were biscuit but I would consider most colours - Very good used ok
1set Door cards - Ditto

1set Water hoses

Any help will be much appreciated

Regards
Richard

Hi Richard,

Much of what you require is available through SNG Barratts.
With the body side of things, SWB inner and outer sills are virtually impossible to source now. LWB genuine panles with 4" cut out of the rear section is the way to go. SWB cover sills are awful :-(
Wings are always tricky to source - how bad are yours? We repair the vast majority here.
I have a pair of SWB rear door skins if you find you need them.
If you follow our Facebook page - we have LOTS of series 1 images :-)

Kind regards,
Keith
