Vehicle Ownership

My neighbour’s late husband bought a new XK150S FHC in 1961 Reg 8MPC. There’s nothing on the DVLA database, is there any way to establish if this vehicle still exists somewhere ?
If you only did an online check It might be worth phoning them as they have access to much more information than is available on line.
It probably had a registration change at some time or may have been exported.
