All Those JEC Magazines

Hi All,
I've been getting ear ache from "her indoors" about all the Magazines that I'm hoarding. I have to admit that my tiny office does need to be de-cluttered and off loading ten years worth of JE Mags would undoubtedly ease the situation. Just think, I could get a couple of exhaust systems in. No, not really, just joking.

So, my question is what do you folks do with your old Mags?

I have never gone back more than a couple of months worth but it seems such a shame to dump them as there are loads of excellent photographs.

i use them in a tactical diversion role ,

while she is complaining about the JEC magazines getting in the way , i am secretly compiling a mass of spares for the car.......

I stuff them down me trews as insulation to stay warm!

Seriously though, storage can be problem, especially where space is at a premium. Regret to say that i was forced to ditch a pile of mags the other day because of that very reason. Despite that however, some magazines I left at the waiting areas in our local hospital. Hopefully they will get read and perhaps provoke a bit of interest in the JEC.

My Mrs has cottoned on to the fact I dont do anything if nagged to, plus when it comes to mags I am even worse.
To combat that she visits somewhere during a month where there is a waiting room so my mags miraculously disappear.

Put them on eBay....it could raise enough for spare parts!

Rather than keep large quantities of magazines, I cut out and kept articles on cars that I fancied owning, including mainly Mikes article on the S type and anything on MkII's and Mk9's. Even this collection became too big so I rationalised and threw out a lot about 2 years ago including the S type stuff, then a year later my wife told me to buy one. So I obeyed, shame about all the lost information.

That information may not be lost, Brian. In the member zone under Jaguar Enthusiast Archive you can search for articles to do with all sorts of topics, by model, or by engine or by interest and a long list of pdf's will appear - eventually all the JEC magazines will be stored in this way meaning none of us should need to keep the back copies at all unless of special interest to us..

why are the magazine binders so expensive from the club ?

i would imagine the sales of the binders is quite low ?

if they were half the current price, i would certainly buy enough to house my ten years worth of magazines

Thank you Ray for pointing that out, I read everyone that comes up for the 'S type', there is so much information available, and it has clarified a few of questions about the introduction of various upgrade to the cars.

I'll spend a few happy hours on other subjects in the future.

I too get the same ear ache about them but you never know when a problem arises and the answer will most likely be in one of them. What about finding another secret location for them?
