Time for the STR to go to a good home.

Always said I wanted to be buried in my beloved STR, but the call of an x350 XJR proved too strong! I was hoping to keep both but as an OAP common sense must prevail!
2002 in Pacific blue with 56k miles, I bought it with 17k miles and she has never let me down.
Mechanics maintained regardless of cost by Chris at CFS Motors (what a great guy!) this car has an unusual history which I will not go into here but come and have a drive an a cuppa and I will share it with you!
Has upgraded top pulley, stainless exhaust and K&N filter. Drives 100% perfect and suffers from non of the usual problems. Torque converter and gearbox serviced this year by CFS. New brakes, tyres and steering rack in the last year. See photo on vehicle register.
In no hurry to sell. Car is in Stone Staffordshire .

That sounds very nice. Some good upgrades done as well.

The 350 is a completely different kettle of fish, as I`ve found out. Rather bigger in all dimensions and takes practice to place accurately. However it is a great long distance cruiser especially if pulley and induction mods are carried out. If you could write some material for the magazine about your car change, that would be appreciated. I can help with copy requirements, proof reading, etc, etc.mike.kennedy@jec.org.uk is where to contact me.

The STR is now becoming something of a rare beast with about a quarter of the UK production run having seemingly disappeared of the UK DVLA lists. I`d say the value of good examples of the model are set to skyrocket in value before too long. The best of luck with the sale. Fight off the bargain hunters and the tyre kickers!

Keep us informed of progress and we look forward to seeing you over on the 350BB

Hi Mike. Yes I agree about the x350. To me its the very best of the traditional modern models and I have always yearned for one.
The STR is my third having had a new one in 2003 which still belongs to a good friend of mine. I then had a black 2002 which came to a sad end whilst my wife was driving. She popped to the local Co-op to buy an onion and got rear ended turning into the car park..... expensive onion!!
I then acquired my third STR from a collector in North London (E-Bay). Bought it unseen
within 20 minutes of him listing it!
I have also owned 2 3.2 x308's and an XK8 Convertible.
I think I like Cats!!
Steve.
