Hi All
I am looking for some guidance on my Sat Nav Disc upgrade! I have just brought a 2005 S-Type and in the boot it has the DVD Sat Nav system and the disc within there at present is a 2004 Ver!This of course is no ggod to man nor beast as most of the roads I want don't even appear on the disc when travelling.
My questions are as follows:
1: Should I purchase a brand new latest update 2012 Jaguar Disc from http://jaguar.navigation.com/products/C ... arEMEA/GBP asrecondmended by my local Jaguar dealer?
2:Should I purchase from a Jaguar breakers a more up to date cd if i can get one?
3:Should I purchase form this lot..http://www.satnavdiscsale.com/jaguar-sat-nav-16-c.asp and has anyone on here used this company and their disc and do they work?
4:Should I purchase from this lot..http://satnavstore.com/index.php?route= ... duct_id=56 and again has anyone on here used these before?
And will all of the above work in my 2004 dvd unit in the boot?
P.s I also noticed the other day that after a long journey the unit in the boot gets very hot to the touch! is that normal?
So as a new owner and new member you can see the predicament I'm in! Any help or guidance would be very well accepted from those in the know...lol
Many Thks all

Have a look on this thread for some info http://www.jec.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=204&t=7065
I bought my 2012 Disc from http://www.satnavupgrades.co.uk/ not had any problems with it at all, though they now only seem to sell BMW Discs. I know of another S Type owner who recently bought from your second link, they also have not had any problems, I have a feeling that this company could possibly be Sat Nav Upgrades under a different name.

I upgraded my 2002 to 2012. Satnavdiscsale was the place my S Type friend bought from.

Hi Old Timer
Awaiting disc arrival today will let everyone know in this thread how I get on! He did say that this disc covers 2003 onwards for the S-Types and should update you to 2012 as that being the last disc that Jaguar have produced for this range,Talking to him also confirmed that all the latest Jaguars have "Hard Disks" installed rather than DVD boot players and the Sat Nav is now just downloaded to the hard disk! He sounded that he really knew his stuff? So here's hoping and if disc arrives to day will post later on this afternoon how I get for all to read!

Latest Update 10.59am 14/07/2015
Cd arrived in post so went out to car opened boot and started engine as requested, removed old cd in Sat Nav and replaced with new one which arrived this morning,By the time I had sat back in the car update had already began! screen informs you what it is doing and within 5 minutes the update had finished!
Stopped engine and turned off then turned key on to position 2 again pressed the Sat Nav button on centre console and hey presto Sat Nav back up and running, Please be aware at this point you have to select Uk as your Country and also change destination Map to UK for searching locations, Apart from that its ready to use and I must say the graphics look better as well!
It shows as 2012/13 cd and all credit to the man that supplied this one it does what it says on the tin!the cost was £25.00 delivered to your door by first class post order today and you get it tomorrow, A must I would say for every S-Type owner from 2003 onwards who needs to upgrade their Sat Nav system.
My S-Type was a late 2005 but had a 2004 Sat Nav disc in it when I brought the motor,Looked online at jaguar replacing Sat Nav Disc price was £174.00..Bit of a difference I would say....lol
So one really pleased and beaming S-Type owner who now has the latest Sat Nav upgrade installed at a fraction of the price and not a jaguar dealer insight nor any problems with system or load..lol
Anyone interested in upgrading theirs needs to contact me via pm and I would be more than pleased to pass on the details of this clever guy for your use....
Await to hear and say hello from all the other members interested in upgrading their own S-Type Sat Nav's

Brilliant, will be in touch
Re: Satellite Navigation Upgrade
Just received one from Russell myself and it updated fine. The only difference I can see from the old one is the logo screen is now black and white instead of green and white.

Re: Satellite Navigation Upgrade
Hi lol sorry for the late reply. Yes this disc is well worth the money, I've been trying it out over the past week and it works fine. One thing I will say about the Jag sat Nav is that it needs to be calibrated (see Handbook) In the past I like many others have been a bit naffed off with being given wrong directions and going the long way round ect.
Last year whilst on holiday in Cornwall with lots of free time I got to reading the the section of the Satnav handbook about calibration and once done it was a lot better. So for you out there who think that the Jag Satnav Is'nt much good (as I did) check to see if it's calibrated.
I will now every six months or so check it.

Re: Satellite Navigation Upgrade
Hi Jeff
Really great to hear yet another Jaguar owner has not had to pay through the roof for upgrades on the Sat Nav! I'm surprised that others haven't taken up the offer? but who knows in time!

Re: Satellite Navigation Upgrade
Still on the Sat Nav topic. The audio has stopped working for some unknown reason, I was using it the other day and I turned the volume down using the radio knob and since then no audio. All the settings seem to be right. Any ideas anyone.
