Hi there,I have had the amber and red restricted performance warning lights come on in my 2007 xs.A garage down the road to me ran a diagnostic and the code P244B has come up.They could not find what the code means I have checked on the web and apparently the DPF pressure is high.Has anybody had experience of this and what the solution is and can anyone recommend an independent Jag specialist near Southend on sea as main dealers are over 20 miles away. Many thanks Andy.
Many thanks for your replies.I took the jag into a jag specialist and they performed a service regen on the DPF and changed the oil and also installed a new software update. At no time did an amber DPF full light come on but they assure me that it will now. They tell me this is a big problem with the S type DPF and consider that this car is not suitable for short journeys around town, strange as I drove through France in the middle of June.
Cheers Andy

Hello Andy,
Have a look in the members recommended suppliers listings. You will find this just to the left of the S-type BB listings on the page you used to enter this Board. (in the oblong dark blue box.)
Click, serviceing, diagnostics and jaguar specialists for your area. (Yellow sector)
I scrolled down quickly and found MT Autos in Southend. Their range of services looks quite comprehensive but I have not personally had dealings with them.
The diesel particulate filter came up at the recent S-type seminar. This needs to be kept clean or changed. It causes a few problems in service. The link below may be helpful to you. It would appear a good burn out occasionally may be helpful. Take a look and see if there is anything you may be able to gleen from the information posted.

To get to this info, I typed jaguardpfpressure into Goggle. There seems to be other sites that may also produce relivent information.
Regret my knowledge of diesels is rather limited but hope this helps.
Please let us all know how you get over the problem.

Hi Andy
I read with interest the problem of you having the "Restricted Performance" appear on your car. I had the same problem about a year ago where it suddenly came on after about a 1/2 mile when starting from cold, on restarting the car it would come back on again shortly after pulling away. My solution was to stop the car, turn off the ignition and then press the Sport button. As soon as the engine was restarted I hot footed it down the road as fast as it would go, allowing it to rev as high as possible untill it changed up a gear. All I can say is that the "Restricted Performance" indicator has not come on since, so since then I often give it a good thrashing once in a while to ensure the exhaust system is cleared of any soot.
Best of luck.
Dave
