Ford parts?

Postby robertwilsher67886 » Tue Jun 08, 2021 11:30 pm

Well…. That was a surprise…I’ve been replacing the discs and pads on my STR and noticed the word “Ford” stamped on the metal panels in the front wheel arch…. Are there many Ford parts on a Jaguar S Type?…… (I had heard that the X Type is built on a Mondeo wheel base)

Yes, while Jaguar was under Ford ownership (forget exact years), lots of parts were shared, the switchgear from my XK8 shares several parts with Fords of same era. Useful to know when buying parts!

The ignition key is ford, and I once had a problem with the wiper motor which I changed and while I was at it I removed the linkage to service it and that was a Ford part, If I'm not mistaken from the Ford Lincoln USA.

I recently checked my 2001 S type air filter, and the inside of the housing box was stamped Ford.
