What A Car.

I am new to Jag ownership and newer still to my S-Type, picking her up in December last. She is a standard 3 litre V6 1999 model in unusual Alpine Green. I have been enjoying driving her and gradually gaining in skills learning what the car will do and won't do, and getting used to driving a prestige car (everything I have owned prior has been old, industrial or 'economic'!).

Driving normally, the car is a pleasure. But put that accelerator down a little and what a rush! The surge from the back, the muffled roar from the V6 is wonderful and at times I feel like a big bloody kid! 8)

Last night however I also saw a different side. Driving home through horrendous torrential rain, driving sleet and high winds in the dark and she was smooth, confident, sure footed and never missed a beat. No misting screens, no wind noise, in fact I felt more than I heard, no nothing. I have never felt so safe and securely planted to the road in such awful conditions as I did yesterday. I loved this car already but experiences like this are amazing me every day.

If this is Jaguar ownership, I don't want any other car!

Glad you like your Car . I also have a 1999 SE type 3.0 V6 Alpine Green 136000 miles and runs great.
had the car nearly 3 years now.

Maybe we can swap photos sometime to compare motors.

Happy Driving.

Car is fine! Not my garage though, sadly, they are the fine premises of JagTechnic of Eastbourne.

Last weekend I managed to get some time and weather and washed and polished her up, so have better recent pics but have yet to upload them - when I do I will post them up. Just can't wait for some decent weather to be able to drive, clean and admire her in daylight and the dry rather than dark and incessant wet!

Today, we went to Ikea as the boss wanted more bookshelves, rather than throw some of her books away.

It was a pleasant cruise to Leeds on the M roads, the only annoyance was the windscreen wiper clacking in the intermittent rain.

As usual we collected the flat pack boxes from the storage area and began to realise we had a lot of weight and wondered if it would all fit in? With the back seats down, boot full and the back seat area also full we set off for home. Again a magic carpet ride and only realised how much weight we had onboard when braking. Looking at the car on arrival home I think we were doing a very good impression of J44EAG, very low, particularly at the back.

Only a quarter of a tank used, not bad, nice car.

Glad to see these great cars being used. Mine is now my daily drive to and from work in all weathers and kept outside as doesn't fit in the garage. Not missed a beat, sure footed in foul weather, smooth and fast when needed. By far and away the best car I have ever owned. Just waiting for better weather and time off to coincide so I can make some headway in deep-cleaning and getting to know her a bit better.
