Broken or leaking 2.7d exhaust?

Here are a couple of repair kits.

I wonder how long the genuine Jaguar flexi repair kit has been available. There seems to be the Jaguar version which looks more like an Engineered kit and the non flexi factor type part, cheaper but no flexi neck. There was obviously a reason there had to be some flexibility to the original design which appears to have been replicated for the repair kit from Jaguar. At least it beats having to fit new catalysts. At least Jaguar have now recognised the need to do a repair kit part.

I agree but the repair kits is not cheap. Just did whole exhaust in ss on mx5 half the price of the kit. Looking at how many problems people are having here seems like we are putting something right which was not well engineered in the first place. Mine is not massive miles.
Thanks
Martin
ps still love the car though :D :D

I have just done mine, I used the genuine Jaguar parts, not cheap, but my 2.7 X350 does not smell in the cabin any more!!, and it is now unlikely to go up in flames as well, have a look at this post re just that

My 2.7 S Type also had the fumes in the cabin and the soot was very evident in the engine bay around the bulkhead and the fuel filter. Anyway, all sorted now by local indy, not sure what he did with flexi pipes but a Cat was cracked and had to be repaired by other specialist engineering workshop. Some weeks after that there was a slight return of the original fumes issue and this was quickly sorted with a new gasket at the EGR valve. :D

We have seen quite a few owners with similar issues ask for advice about this matter on the S-type, X350 and XF Bulletin Boards.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Glad you got it fixed.
