2.7 Diesel Turbo Fuel burner

The fuel burner in my S type 2.7 diesel which is designed to heat up the engine and internal cabin is supposed to activate whenever outside temperatures fall below 5 deg C but fails to do so. I have had the fuel burner itself replaced by and authorised Jaguar dealership but this hasn't resolved the problem. It seems that whatever process should activate the fuel burner isn't working and my Jag dealership say they don't know why and can't do any more. Any advice will be much appreciated

There are several things that will prevent it from firing up, these are those that I can remember:

1, Ensure you have the Climate Control in Auto.
2, Ensure the Low Fuel warning is not lit.
3, Low Battery Volts will also prevent it from firing up.

I would also check that there are no blown fuses etc.

If the above is OK, I would advise contacting an authorised Webasto service agent.

Anyone that's having problems with there Fuel Fired Heater starting up should try this. Once the heater has been re set turn the climate control off before starting the engine After starting turn on the climate control to get the FFH to fire up. When you get to where your going turn off the FFH before stopping the engine then it should fire up next time.

I have found that if the FFH goes through its full burning cycle it will fire up again when you turn off the engine even if you leave the climate control on, but not on short journeys when its not completed its cycle. Give it a go and see what happens you may be well chuffed as I was

Mine fires up regularly when outside temp is low but I often wonder if there is any benefit. There is noise and some smoke from it which before I learned what it was it became quite alarming.

Don't go off the temp gauge, put your hand under the foot vent you will feel warm air coming through after a couple off minuets. It seems to me that the warm water goes strait from the burner to the duel heater valve then into the cabin. Even when the cabin is warm it still takes a while for the temp gauge to rise significantly.
