Thanks Graham & Doug
I eventually contacted Jaguar classics who replied with ‘ we don’t have the expansion tanks in stock but call back in two weeks’
So I’m hoping I can buy a new tank very soon, I will let you know how it turns out
Thanks again
Clive

Re: expansion tank update
Hi Guys
I hope you're all having a great weekend, I've had an early Christmas present as Jaguar Classic have released a limited number of expansion tanks for the early S-Type (1999-2002) part number XR849532.
You will need to order it through your local Jaguar dealer as Jaguar Classic are not taking internet orders.
I fitted the new tank myself, so if anyone needs help fitting their tank I can send photos
Happy driving
Clive

Re: expansion tank
Hello Folks
I replaced the expansion tank on my 1999, 3l, Petrol and on my 2005 2.7d both cracked at about 60k. A common issue with low quality JLR parts. I got replacements from SNG Barrett no problem. Fitting them was easy and they had and have no further issues. Both cars however are dead the first scrapped, both resulting from further issues and gone, the first at 135k and the second at 154k currently tucked up in my yard waiting to become one with nature.
