Temperature Gauge

Postby steve955 » Sun Jan 08, 2017 8:14 pm

Evening Jag owners, over the last couple of days I have noticed something odd going on with the temperature gauge in my S Type Diesel. When you turn on the ignition the gauge goes back to the temperature of the car when you had turned it off. It quickly goes back to zero after you have started and then performs as usual. Anybody had this happen to them before?

Yes, my X350 V8 does this from time to time and so did the previous 2.7 TDVi. I don't worry about it - remember the temperature gauge is not "real" it's driven by software so it's probably yet another software quirk. I have another software bug that similarly only happens from time to time: on the centre screen after startup you can press a soft key button to blank the display, which it does except that the backlight does not go completely off. Only if you use the voice command "display off" does it go right off. Software, don't you just love it!
