Rear subframe corrosion

Hi guys,

This the first reported case of a rear subframe having to be replaced through corrosion.

Image below reveals the extent of the perforation.

Before panic sets in, the car was an early model. I wonder if the car was used in a salt laden environment or whether paint and anti corrosion measures were less than satisfactory. We shall never know.

Dave Marks has never seen a case of this and as we know S-types do not suffer badly from corrosion issues. One hopes this is an isolated example.

Oh dear that is pretty bad, would be as you say, interesting to know what part of the Country the car was used in. I take it the use of the word 'perforation' was a tad tongue in cheek Mike
