Rattle snake sound at Full Lock

Occasionally when I have to use full lock I get a rattle snake sound coming from the steering.

My S type is a 1999 3.0 SE anyone else had the same noise ?

Not had that myself, Paul but possibly low power steering fluid level. The rattle snake sound may be cavitation due to cavitation.

My PAS occasionally groans when hot. Just a characteristic which might be cured by adding some power steering additive.
