2.7d Fuel filter

Hi folks.

Well Its service time again and this time I'm going to change the fuel filter has enyone done one of these.
Mike seems to think that Its a strait foward job and I'm certainly not doubting Mikes comments but I'd be interested to here If a diesel owner has changed one.

Hi Jef
This is simple to do, but to ensure an easy start up once complete it is important that you purge the new Filter of air.
I guess you already know where it is located within the Engine bay on the Bukhead passenger side.
Take a note of the position of the pipes going to from the Filter and then disconnect them by depressing the small button on the side of each fitting and then lift off.
Remove the Filter by depressing the plastic clip on the bracket and then lifting away and discard.
Click the new Filter into the bracket and refit all pipe connections (all except the outlet to the Fuel Rail) onto the Filter by simply pushing them home onto the ports.
Using a short Hose, push this onto the outlet port of the Filter with the end of it in Jam jar.
Turn on the ignition to run the Fuel Pump in the Tank, once you can see no more air Bubbles emerging, turn off the Ignition and remove the hose and refit the Fuel line. You can now restart the Engine.

Hi Dave
THanks for the Info. I did the filter change last weekend before you sent your post I did the same procedure as you have discribed appart from the air bleeding. I just turned the ignition on for a couple of minutes till the gurgling noise stopped and then fired her up. So maybe its self bleeding or I was just lucky.
