Fuel Pipe Problem.

I have a 2001 4 litre V8 and I've hit a problem. The fuel pipe connects to the fuel filter with a plastic clip. When we disconnected the pipe in order to replace the fuel filter, the old clip was brittle and no longer usable. This clip used to be supplied as part of a new fuel pipe, but not any more (apparently), and it's not listed separately in the parts catalogue. Does anybody know where I can get a new clip, or a new pipe complete with clip? Or are there any alternatives that we could use instead of a genuine factory part?

A new fuel pipe without the plastic clip is useless, so it seems a bit odd that the factory would supply a part that is not fit for purpose. My car has been stuck in the garage for two weeks now for want of a little bit of plastic, so I really would appreciate any help or advice.

Have you tried one of the breakers such as EuroJag, AutoReserve etc for a second hand part?

Thanks for the response. Trawling round breakers yards is something I would prefer to avoid, except as a very last resort. I would rather locate a new part if possible.

You should have been able to get new clips from whoever sold the Filter, or go to the Jaguar new parts places, or even Jaguar themselves. I replaced the Fuel Filter on my other Car recently and got 2 new Pipe clips no problem.
I know you are getting the same answers on the other forum and I agree that its much better to replace with new.
