Door Mirror

Hi, I have had problems with the near side exterior door mirror over the last few weeks, it moves up and down fine but not in or out. At first I thought it would be the motor unit, however you can hear the motor working. I have taken the mirror apart and found the white (plastic) runner the motor works has seen better days.
I'd say it needs a new set of dentures as the teeth have just about had it.
Is it a total replacement of the unit, motors and all or can the individual plastic runner be bought ?
Thanks :)

Quickest and cheapest would perhaps be to buy a good second hand unit from Eurojag. You could swap over the coloured front section from your old mirror unit to the new. It just clips in place. It is unlikely that a new gear tooth set or other internal parts will be available from Jaguar parts outlets.

Note that from MY52> the shape of the mirror unit changed. Best to have the last six digits of your Vin Number when you make replacement enquiries.

Hi Mike,

Thanks I'll give Eurojag a go. Internal electrics/gearing, which is one unit, have been quoted by Jaguar at £40 or £101 (if memory seats are fitted) big difference.
