Wheel arch repair panels.

Postby grumpyjohn » Wed Dec 24, 2014 4:30 pm

Hi, Does anyone supply good quality repair panels for the front wheel arches. There is a little bubbling rust on my offside, probably caused by previous accident damage ( before my ownership) not being properly repaired. I have had the rust ground out , filled and resprayed by a 'scratch and chip' specialist, but, needless to say, the rust is back. I don't really want to replace the whole wing if there is a most cost efficient way of dealing with it. Seasons greetings guys.

No repair sections to my knowledge.

Lets face it, a complete second hand wing, probably painted to match your car paint code, can be found on ebay or at many breakers for £20 > £60. On this basis, it is more economical to go and source a less ragged wing than bother to weld in sections to a rusty wing then straighten out distortion, fill. fair, prime, paint and flat and polish. That is doing things the very hard way!

Loads of panel work and other S=type consumables on ebay.

As Mike has said previously, replacing the front wings is best done with a wing off a scrap car as they are bolt off and bolt on and it takes about an hour to an hour and half. Rear wings are a different matter however, I haven't until now come across any wheel arch repair panels but found these from Poland whilst trawling Ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HQ-JAGUAR-S- ... 3107014538
