Having had 4 supercharged Jaguars since 2003, 3 STR's and an XJR I have constantly had the common problem with front Brembo discs warping causing a less than pleasant driving experience. I have lost count of the sets of discs I have replaced over the years.
Last month I had my front discs skimmed on the car . What a difference!! I now have the smoothest operating pedal ever and 2k miles on they are still perfect.
Just thought I would pass this one on. Highly recommended.

Re: STR BREMBO DISCS
The quickest way to warp a disc after using the brakes hard is then to sit with your foot on the brakes whilst you wait for the traffic lights to turn green. As you probably already know, that causes a localised cold spot which can warp a disc(s). So best advice in such a scenario is to keep the pressure off the brakes and slip the car into neutral gear if not on a gradient.
After time and use discs gain a sort of user induced secondary heat treatment and despite having warps, the metallurgy then settles down a bit. Having the discs skimmed is one answer BUT make sure you do NOT have them machined down below the minimum permitted disc thickness. Over thinned discs can shatter in extreme cases due to an inadequate level of cross sectional area.
Manufacturing techniques and heat treatment of discs varies widely across the industry. Some makes are better than others. Premium brands may be better than budget discs......but then again they may not. Only trailing various types and seeing how they perform in service will provide the answer. I`ve never had an issue with Mintex myself but they might not be so good for your needs. Suck and see would appear to apply.

Hi Scuthy,
My favourite subject!
Nothing special about Brembo Brakes just bigger !
Have you fitted the discs or your service organisation ?
The Manufacturers recommended a disc "run out" for newly fitted discs of Zero to 40microns (1.7 thou)
This is readily achievable.
Too often no run check is carried out because it takes too long or don't have the knowledge or tools.
The result is that initially the brakes feel fine and slowly deteriorate to eventually causing a judder.
On return to the Garage the excuse is invariably not us mate, it's those lousy discs, they have warped.
Grinding the discs on the car is just remedying lousy fitment in the first place. I remember this process being looked into twenty five years ago
Next time you have discs fitted ask if they have a DTI and what was the run out figure achieved.
Meanwhile, I hope your newly reground discs give you good service
