Hello everyone.
It's time to chnage the front pads on my '02 2.5 S type and I was wondering what pads you have fitted and if there is any noticeable difference when not installing the Jag OEM pads?

Jag OE from my experience is Mintex.
Go to ebay for the best prices. I recently relined both axle sets on my V8 4 litre for around £32 delivered to my door. Loads of deals to be had for single and two axles sets bought as a job lot or as single sets.
Other reputable manufacturers material is also available. Best to go for a guarantee of OE spec when you are looking at options available.
I`ve run uprated materials and discs over the years. Drilled and grooved discs tend to wear pads down quickly but braking can be a tad more reassuring. I`ll not bother with grooved discs again but would certainly consider drilled discs to vent off braking gases a little more efficiently. For general driving, standard materials and discs are quite good enough for typical road applications and most drivers unless you tend to be a serious push on driver and use your brakes heavily.
Ceramic Redstuff or Greenstuff is well liked for its long life and good braking characteristics. However prices for pad material are appreciably more expensive than standard materials. In my experience I do not consider the extra costs against potentially longer pad life to be worth the extra outlay. Others may disagree.
Mintex are as reliable as you can get. Buying cheaper non OE specd material is not worth the risk.
