Whilst looking on line for the electrical diagrams of a 2003 S type I found this website with 84 Jaguar wiring diagrams. For those interested I hope you find what you want.

Hi Steve,

I was looking for a wiring diagram for oldtimer and his 2003 car and found the site I put up here.

That is a nice site you have put up, I've found pages before that must have come from there but to have then all in one place is excellent, now stored in 'favourites'.

I have found 4 or 5 free Jaguar manuals for various bits of the early S types and in case the site goes down, I copied them to a word doc and stored them. But I have not found anything about the manual gearbox......yet. I've heard its a BMW box..........BMW own Getrag, and another forum showed a picture of the 221 box from a BMW but with a different bellhousing, whatever.

I'm playing with door locks at present (that means the car is behaving itself at present) and trying to buy the micro switches to repair them. If I can get the 3 switches and repair the lock it will save the cost of a complete lock.

Apart from slight corrosion on the spring actuation spindle the lock is perfect.........still can't work out how the lock works electrically, the module must do some switching as well as the micro switches??

Thanks for that Steve.

trying not to split hairs but the manual gearbox is definitely a Ford product. Nigel corrected me on this point prior to his S-type booklet being published. See the booklet given out at the last seminar.

Hi Brian,
And very nice too
I am pleased that you forwarded the S type wiring diagram. All 172 pages worth. Like your self I have down loaded and stored it for now and the future. I'm am sure it will keep me quiet for a few hours. Although I have only studied it for a short time I'm wondering if there will be any benefit in printing it off in order to put selective pages side by side! Not sure yet.

Mike , Todays thought!
Shortly before the outbreak of the second world war there was an enormous demand for Rolls Royce Merlin engines. This demand continued for the whole of the war and to help meet that demand they were also built by Packard in USA. Additionally the Ministry of Supply contracted Ford to construct a new factory to build engines in Manchester England.

So todays thought. Were they Rolls Royce engines or Ford engines !?!

Nite Nite All

PS Not that I'm splitting hairs of course
