As I remember from the last Diagnostics Seminar, we had only limited success with the Gendon units loaned to us.

Dave Marks had a laptop with a diagnostic program loaded and this seemed to work well. I`m unsure about which programme was used.

I know that Mike H, our XK8 Co-0rdinator runs a similar programme on his laptop with an OBD11 link lead to his car. I`ll ask him to make comment.

Though I have not used it myself This one is highly recommended on another Stype Forum I'm on.
I have used the Scangauge II for a few years on my other Cars and found it to be excellent, though other people keep borrowing it and have had more use of it than me.

Thanks, Doug.

Would you possibly be able to bring this to Weston Park?

:( In response to Mike K's comment above, I'm going to duck this one for the simple reason that I'm far from up to date with developments. Like all pieces of electronic kit, code readers and similar change pretty rapidly these days and I've only got experience of some older tech which has limited functions. In fact, I'm so out of date on occasions I still also use my Lucas Epitest equipment (1970's vintage!).
The Gendan equipment Mike mentioned does give helpful diagnostic information but as Jaguars gain electronic equipment (eg electronic handbrakes) and lose tried and trusted items (eg the dipstick on the current cars), it's important to buy the most up to date and appropriate diagnostic and software aids to cope with these changes. Hence, I will watch this thread with interest and hope to learn from it. Mike H.
