Parking sensors.

In the not too distant past i had an intermitant bleeping as soon as i put the car in reverse. This was worse in the winter or after i had the car washed. In the summer the parking sensors were ok so this led me to the conclusion a sensor was defective. The boot is bone dry as is the parking module. On a recent visit to the garage they said that a fault code registered a rear o/s corner parking sensor fault. Since then however when reverse is selected i now get a constant 3 second bleep then nothing. I have tried listening to the rear sensors to see if there is a clicking when passing but nothing. Is this an indication the module has given up the ghost. I have cleaned the connections with no gain. It does not matter how close i get to an object there is no indication via an audible sound.
