In my 2003 S-Type The lighting behind the radio is so dull (original green light) it is unreadable at night and nowhere near as bright as the climate control panel.
Is it possible to replace the light bulbs in the radio or is it a sealed unit,
I can remove the radio but I don’t want to do that unless I know I can replace the light bulbs.
I hav eput up with this since I bought the car 9 years ago but It is beginning to niggle me now.
Any help welcome thank you

Re: Replacing bulbs in the radio in the central console
Hi - I have the same problem with my 2002 S type Sport. I changed the radio console for a s/hand one, but the discrepancy in lighting remains the same. I put a post on this subject some time ago but I have had no replies. Whether this is a built in fault ( difficult to believe that Jaguar turn out new cars like this?) or something that has developed over time, I can't ascertain. There would appear to be no way it can be rectified. Guess we will have to live with it!

hello Jag lover,
it may be poor connections, either supply or earth or the lampholder itself. Another factor is dirt behind the lens. A simple check is to see how bright the lamp is once the lens is removed, although even if it is not too bright, cleanliness of the lens after many years will be poor.

Does anything happen when you work the dimmer switch up or down.
