I am having the usual trouble with my door locks which apparently have a mind of their own
Is it possible to disable the remote /central locking feature leaving manual operation only ? this could be the most economic solution for me at least Warren

I recall the module is in the drivers door. Worth getting at and excercising the multiplug. A bit of corrosion can wreek havoc.

Thanks Mike I will try that first . Does removal of module disable the system safely and must window be removed for access to actuator ?

Warren,
Disconnection will undoubtedly have a knock of effect. The pack is quite accessible within the door without glass removed. Martec has a few posts on this site which explain how he got over the problem. However many of these issues are often down to mechanical stiffness or electrical plug and socket problems. See how you get on.
What I`ve found with these door lock issues is that the rod mechanism onto the door lock mechanism can become stiff, so some manual working and a few well aimed shots of WD followed by more excercise can often free off the mechanism to good effect. There area couple of micro switches that can fail in the lock mechanism also.
Do the basics first before going to extremes. That could cause more issues than it solves. An indipendent Jag repair man will have seen the issue many times and know how to fix. A few pounds spent with a local guy would be money well spent and get rid of a headache.

Mike .Thanks for information
You certainly are quick off the mark , I will take it all into account . I read in a Technical Bulletin that Jaguar had trouble with some door locks when the front door was closed [firmly?] due to the interior door handle springing back and activating the central locking ! Says a lot for intensive testing
