I read in a earlier post that there is a main Earthing point behind the lower front panel. Were these Earth connections moved higher to either side of the upper Radiator on Face lift models as i see there are quite a few earth cables in these areas.

There were a great many numerous detail changes from the introduction of the pre-facelift models. Many improvements can easily be seen and there will obviously be a large number of changes that you cannot easily see. Only when you place an early car along side a later car and start delving deeply, are those changes seen. The sheer volume of changes would no doubt cover quite a few A4 sheets of paper!

Regret I cannot answer that specific question. Probably a good way to find ground points is to remove the front bumper and start poking around. Space is quite tight within the engine bay on an S-type even with the smaller V6 unit. The V8 takes up more space and the diesel 2.7 is a monster sized lump. Removal of any under tray is likely to be useful when hunting various connection points.

The best advice I can give, I`m afraid.

Hi Mike Just on the size issue I would have though that the V8 would take up more room than the diesel V6. But I must admit that there is not a lot of room in the engine bay of the diesel which as always put me off getting a STR.
