Cruise control not working
Moderators:GJS-typeR, Montana5
The cruise control on my 2003 S-type 4.2 stopped working recently. At the time I was having problems with a front wheel sensor which has been replaced and the DSC and ABS warning lights have now gone out. There are no warning lights, or as far as I know any error codes showing for the cruise control failure. What should I be looking at as the likely cause and remedy?
Re: Cruise control not working
The brake pedal switch would be the next place to look.

Re: Cruise control not working
As you know Cruise is linked to Speed Sensors, I would leave it a few days to see if it returns itself, some faults linger until a few journeys are made.

Re: Cruise control not working
Thank you both for your comments. The speed sensor was replaced some months ago now, so I'm guessing the problem is not linked to that. I'll have a look at the brake pedal switch or maybe ask the garage to do so. All the best.
Re: Cruise control not working
I had a similar issue, which was caused by a faulty brake servo. Once replaced the problem was resolved. The brake pedal switch was also changed whilst undergoing the repair.

Thanks Robin. As I live in France I'm going to have the car looked at when I come to the UK for Christmas. If the brake pedal switch replacement does not do the trick, then I'll look at the servo next.
