Hi does anybody know of a cheap diagnostic fault code reader for a S Type

[J44EAG]

Hello Derek,

There are plenty of cheap readers on ebay but you do get what you pay for. Reading is one thing but clearing and looking at Jaguar specific items are quite another.

Jon Jefferies and I are both using the iCarsoft930I which is available for around £90 currently.http://www.diagnostic-world.com/pages/L ... 104046.cfm

Both of us have found the unit very useful.

The more you pay, the higher the level of interogation possible. In other words, don`t expect too much from a cheap £20 reader which may or may not work on your car.

ditto what Mike said Derek,

I moved up to the iCarsoft after frustration at the lack of scope and ability of three previous cheaper code readers that could only read engine codes...you get what you pay for effectively.

Many on one of the other forums I frequent swear by the ELM 327 Bluetooth, download the App for Android or i phone, or use with software and laptop, even cheaper on e-bay this Amazon link gives some info.
Not tried it myself as I have a Scanguage.
