Once again in trouble. For the past few days the interior lights would not switch off when I was driving my year 2000 S Type. They would eventually switch off some time after I parked the car. I didn't pay too much attention and foolishly thought the problem might solve itself. Anyway today the car wouldn't start, thought the battery was dead so put the jump leads on her. When I thought she had got enough juice from the engine of my wife's car I got into the car and turned the key! What happened next was something akin to the car being possessed. All the dashboard dials started going left to right at speed. The external lights started flashing and there was what I can only describe as a ticking sound from the engine bay. Needless to say the engine didn't start.
As mechanics isn't my forte I was afraid to leave the leads on any longer in case I was doing damage.
Can anybody shed any light on what might be going on here.
