I am fitting a tow bar to my Yr200, S type SR, 3Ltr petrol automatic and understand that an interface electrical unit is required between the tow bar electrics and car electrics.
Can anyone please advise me of the part number, correct name or anything else that would identify the unit. If possible the name of a supplier other than an expensive main dealer.

I had a "Goggle" under Jaguar towing accessories to find an interface unit. I found loads for X-types, but finding a source of towing parts for an S-type was a rather more difficult matter...
However, TowbarsRus appear to list a relay for the S under ZR 1328A but best to check by phone the suitability for your car. Here is the link. http://www.towbarsrus.com/Jaguar-tow-bars.htm Regret that a click on it does not open the site for you. You will have to type it manually into your browser search box.
www.pct.eu.com might also be another source to try.
Looking as I have just done on the net, a surf around the tow bar manufacturers and suppliers sites will prove benificial. I feel that sourcing a suitable electrical unit will not prove too difficult. At the end of the day, the part from TowbarsRus would only appear to be a buzzer relay unit. The cost was as I recall approximately £26 or so. Again please check with the supplier.
Perhaps when you have located the part, you could post again on this site and let other members know where the part came from, its correct part number and the cost.
Hope this helps.
