Hello Robert.
I`ve personally not heard of a kick down failure before but having just done a little research I`ve come up with these two prominent fault codes.
P1306 is kick down relay, pull. In circuit fault.
P1307 is kick down relay, hold. circuit fault.
Both of these codes if found could provide a possible lead if itemised by electronic diagnosis.
The only realistic way of finding what is truly at fault is to have the car electronically diagnosed preferably at an independent Jaguar specialist, a Main Dealer or a transmission specialist. Otherwise it is pure guess work.
Please let us know what you eventually discover.
Mike
