S-Type 2.7 TDi Sport

Postby Hawkeye » Tue Jan 27, 2015 4:31 pm

Hi
Has any body out there had experience of running a S-Type V6 2.7 TDi Sport 6SP 206BHP Manual. Quite rare I believe. I presume the 6SP indicates a sports pack. This engine has a cam belt and is twin turbo charged.
Any info/ experiences would be appreciated.

Many thanks
Peter

I think the 6sp refers to six speed gearbox?
There's probably information on this forum on the 2.7 Diesel engine and it would be worth looking at the X350 and Cf forums as they use the same Diesel engine.

Ive just got one and i love it had a few small issues but nothing to bad. I love the drive with the right blend of power and economy. Never had jags before, but i love mine and would not change it for anything.
Common problem seems to be a cracked flexi pipe to the cats from the engine, mine is booked in to be done but its not a big issue. Also i would go for a cam belt change in line with jag service schedule. Main dealers are doing them for £375 all in which seems good to me, mine will be done later this year.
Also having had BMWs and Mercs (both sre good) but the jag has more soul and presence in my book and much better looking. :D

Make sure the dealer also changes the idler pullys at the same time. Not doing so is a false economy.
