Diesel Belts and chains

At the back of the 2.7 diesel engine there is a chain on bank 1 and a belt on bank 2, what do both of these drive ?

looking into diagram of the engine I have just noticed bank two has a chain at the front also..
does anyone know of these stretching or breaking ?

I have never heard of the chains stretching or breaking but the rear belt should be changed at 100 K however if that belt breaks it doesn't do any damage to the engine as all it does is drive the fuel pump.

The "belt" is driven from a sprocket on the end of the Exhaust Cam shaft of the "Left Hand" bank looking from the drivers seat. Both banks of cam shafts are driven by chains.
The "belt" is normally changed if the job is done by Jag Main Dealers when the "Timing Belt" at the front of the engine is changed.
For clarity the Timing Belt at the front drives gears on the ends of the Exhaust camshafts which in turn drive the inlet camshafts by chains.
