I experienced this fault code after car had stood 3wks on the parking place and it was very moist and close to zero degrees when I started It.
After warming up I cleared the code and it seems not to return yet. Any idea? TPS soon to fail or just the moisture causing it?

Re: P1254 fault code in S-type R 2003
I would say the most likely explanation, considering that the car had not moved for 3 weeks and the low temperature, would be voltage drop across the battery on start up. The electronics are very fussy and even a slight voltage drop will make it stroppy.
There's a reasonable chance that the issue will not return but if the battery is getting marginal (and those kind of conditions are a good test of that) then change it.
