Hi All i have an s type 04 diesel, on very random drives the car will just turn its self off usually at a turning or roundabout. Given A couple of minutes it will restart ,clear the dash warnings and go along fine. has anyone come across this happening or has anyone got any clues.
Other than this she drives exceptionally well.

Hi This sounds like a wiring problem behind the front bumper. I've read about it before ( could be on this forum ) It's a case of removing the front bumper and doing a continuity test on the all the wires to find a break in one of them. Apparently it is quite a common problem especially on early models.

Ok If it is a wiring fault behind the bumper, it's not as daunting as it sounds. The bumper comes off in one piece. I never had to remove mine, but there's info on here how to do it. Apparently some of the fixings can rust and be hard to release but once it's off you will be able to attend to them.
