FOUND: Series 1 2+2 Nearside Rear Bumper in Good Condition

Postby Kember » Mon Aug 06, 2018 9:30 pm

I am looking for a nearside rear bumper for my 1966 2+2. The current part was "repaired" after a rear end shunt but it no longer looks right now that the bodging on the bodywork has been corrected and the car once again is true. The lines are all over the place.

I was wondering if anybody here had a bumper they would be prepared to part with? Although I am UK-based, I am currently down in North Italy (by Lake Maggiore) and will be returning on 20/21/22 August via Switzerland, the Black Forest as far as Baden Baden, through the Saarland into Luxembourg and Belgium before hitting the Tunnel, so I could detour to collect in person if that helped. Otherwise, post would be fine.

Alternatively, does anybody know a "magician" who can put bent bumpers right?

Thanks in advance.

I'll respond quickly to PMs

Peter

A photo of the offending bumper both on and close up would help

Some of the re-chroming shops have magicians that you refer to -- depends how bad the deformations are
I've used Silverbronz in Alton, Hants. And ACF Howell in Walsall.
Gone: '59 Mark I, '56 Mark VIIM, '59 Mark IX, '01 XJ8 Sovereign 4L LWB, '01 XJ8 Sport 3.2L, '01 XJ8 Exec 3.2L
Current: '03 Strange Rover L322
Completing re-trim: '73 Owen Sedanca 4.2L
Now being re-built: '61 Mark IX with 4.2L
