Hello,
I am new to this forun - bought my car in April - heater water pipes were missing and there is no heater valve so far as I can see. It appears the metal pipes have been bypassed with rubber ones. Having read another post fom 2008, stainless pipes were suggested - seen some on Ebay but uncertain as to quality - previous post mentioned replacement pipes frequently dont have the correct bends? Any suggestions as to where to source a quality set from? Are there 3 of them? Sounds like a fun replacement job, but high time I got my hands dirty!!
A brief description of the heater flow set up would be very helpful, also where the valve should be located, control cables routed etc. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I'm aware my heater pipes have been bodged but I dont know how they should be.

I swapped out the heater pipes on my slightly earlier car about 4 years ago. Initially, I bought just the long pipe in stainless steal from Norman Motors, but when I looked into it in more detail, I decided I needed to swap out all of them and bought a kit of three from Barratts. All the pipes were just fine, so I would suggest you get them from one of these sources. I do have a spare long one if thats of any use to you (but I don't know if its exactly the same for your car).

I do not know the similarity between my car and yours, I think the wiper motor moved, for instance, on later cars. In my case I had to remove the wiper motor as this, the three pipes and the washer jets and pipes are all concealed in the bulkhead void which you get to by folding down the centre dash. Getting the long pipe in was extremely difficult.

Here's an old photo of that part of my car taken several years ago when the engine was out to renovate the under bonnet area.
You should be able to see two pipes protruding to the left, the heater valve to the left of the washer bottle and two more pipes just to the left of the heater (above and below each other). Sorry the photo isn't any clearer.

Also check the E-type Forum site. There's probably more info on there and it seems to be far more active than this section of the JEC forum. I've never had much luck with this section, but the other areas of the JEC forum are excellent.

Thanks for your response, which I've only just spotted. I managed to get a good idea of the layout of the pipes from a spares supplier's exploded diagram - should have thought of that before I posted initially. I've since bought a set of 3 (from eBay - see below extract from listing) but not fitted them yet. Am thinking of removing the dash top for access to fit them. Any further info on fitting much appreciated. I bought a supposed E Type workshop manual on CD which doesn't give a clue! It appear from the below listing the pipes are common to both our cars.
