Fuel pump blowing not sucking??

Hi Guys,

I hope you arre all keeping safe (in the garage??!) during these strange times.....

My V12 Roadster has been laid up for 18 months while I had the cooling system in bits...

Thanks to some enforced home time, it's all back together, but the (points system) fuel pump, although merrily ticking away, is not producing a vacuum, and if I drop the intake in fuel, itr blows bubbles!

I've stripped it, and lubricated it, but no change....I don't understand, is there something I could be missing?

Hello Simon,

there are two one way valves in the pump body, they keep the flow in one direction, have a close look, it may be a simple as some debris stuck in (probably the suction one) so it does not seal on the discharge stroke. I can't remember if they are replaceable if damaged but I think they are?
