Engine lumpy when going up hills

Hi there,

The Series 2 4.2 roadster is loving the open roads and country lanes of Worcestershire.
However, when I start going up hills, the engine seems to miss a few beats and feels 'lumpy'.
I am suspecting a problem with fuel feed (gravity effects).

Does anyone have any helpful advice on the problem?

Thanks
Dan

I am not an E type owner but have experienced a similar problem with certain motorcycles in the past. Have you checked the float bowls for water collecting at the bottom? It's worth draining them out to be sure; water from condensation can collect in the fuel tank and then finds its way to the bottom of the float bowls, partially displacing the normal amount of petrol. When going up hill you get an intermittent mix of petrol and water as it sloshes around.
