The pictures show part of the link from the horn push to the slip ring taking the electrical connection from the adjustable steering column but we can't determine whether there is something missing or whether part of it is damaged. Can anyone shed any light on how this all fits together e.g whether there are any diagrams available and/or where any replacement bit(s) could be obtained.

S3 V12 steering wheel [faulty] horn push mechanism
Re: S3 V12 steering wheel [faulty] horn push mechanism
From memory (not sure that's very reliable these days!) it looks about right.
I had a problem a while back where there spring did not seem to have enough oomph to overcome friction in the mechanism and keep the contact up and in touch with the wheel contact. For me the horn worked at first push after assembly then did not on subsequent pushes. I replaced the spring with one slightly stronger/longer and so far so good.
The other end (again from poor memory) is an interference fit in a female connector in the column so perhaps this could also give problems? I think the light coloured nylon bush should be pinned to the shaft. From your pictures it looks like it slides up and down.
