My S1 roadser has just been returned following a significant body rebuild at a specialist restoration establishment
Whilst there are numerous snagging issues to resolve I have discovered the replaced picture frame is of S2 type. It see,s the only difference is the electric motor bracket is missing. I intend to use the revotek type with shroud, but I am very concerned that it is not as original
I would appreciate any views,as to whether I should let this go or insist the correct picture frame be installed and take whatever impact that will have on my relationship. Their view is the new system is far better anyway. My concern is that anyone in the future wanting to revert to original will not be able to do so
Many thanks in anticipation

Re: Picture frame
I think it depends on your point of view. If you think absolute originality is essential then you must insist on it. Some would take the view that sensible upgrades are desirable. There is a compromise where you do some upgrades to make a better car but make sure that the car can be returned to standard should that be important to a future owner.
Up to you really!

Re: Picture frame
I really am in two minds about it
I have no intensions to sell but do not want it to impact its value
I am also annoyed at the company’s blaze attitude
On the other hand I don’t want to cut my nose etc as I would presume access will be better without the bracket
Thanks for your response
