door seals

Good evening
Has anyone any advise on fitting new door seals on my 65 FHC
I have ordered replacement seals from SNG
I have fitted the bottom seals with evostik & they seem ok
To fit the A post & B post seals was thinking of using a window sealant ?
These seals look as though they have been chamfered back in places .
No doubt this is to enable the door line to fit flush.
Will the doors have to be removed to fit the A post seals & if so will doors fit ok when refitted?

Any advise or experience greatly appreciated

I have fitted my door seals twice because I used evostick the first time.
Evostick is not heat resistant and on warm summer days it will start to come off.

My tip for what its worth is make sure first you remove all the white release soap from the rubbers this is not as easy as you might think.

I used Sikaflex 221 for my seals which is the same stuff used to bond the bonnet flanges the heater and air intake ducts are bolted to.
The main reason I used Sikaflex was because I had some and the second is it is a very good adhesive and is not impact you can adjust the door seals until you are happy.
Against using Sikaflex is if it goes off you will need new seals because it won't give up the grip without wrecking the seal.

You should be able to fit the A post seal I did but mine is a roadster just do a trial fit first.
I will bet your doors won't close properly after the new seals have been fitted most don't it takes a few years for them to soften enough but they will.

By the way the reason the bottom seals are chamfered in places is so they line up with the sections on the door which allow water to flow out of the door casing, make sure these are aligned now.

I am also replacing my door seals albeit on a fhc, did you have to remove the doors to deal with the A-post seals?
