The driver's door on my 1962 FHC sticks at its trailing edge near the top, making the glass and surround move out/in when I shut and open the door. I've noticed that the rubber seal on the leading edge of the rear side window frame (that the chrome window frame of the door seals against) has a bump in it in the same position as where the problem seems to be coming from.
The question is how is the seal fixed? I want to investigate the source of the bump – possibly a raised bolt/rivet head/other fixing?
The car was fully restored by the previous owner to a high standard and the panel fit and gaps are all excellent.
Any thoughts?
Door difficult to open/close

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, but seeing as you have had no response I thought I would post one now that I finally have access as moderator
both the seal around the top of the door, and the seal in the vertical B post are fitted itto a slot which is a kind of inverted female T and the rubber has a corresponding male T. Both can easily be pulled out (if they are not glued in) for repositioning or replacement. se a blunt screwdriver or plastic spatula to ease the lip of the seal back into the slot.
Also check that the seal around the upper rear leading edge of the window is not fouling the underside of the rain gutter and holding the window top outwars. If so you may need to adjust (lower) the vertical height of the door to allow it to close properly.
Cheers,

Thanks Art
I'll have a look next week when I have a few days of garage time planned, primarily to drop the rear axle. Again…
