Heater

Postby Rob1234 » Wed Nov 26, 2008 12:42 pm

The heater on my drophead is pathetic.
Paseengers regularly comment that their feet are freezing....despite the heat from the engine block itself.

I have ensured everything seems to be working correctly....but still little heat available.

Can anybody help me?

Rob,

A couple of things you can check. First is the flap in the heater box seized so heat is not coming into the car.
Second the heater valve on the bulkhead same side side as the heater box may not be functioning (opening and closing).
Is the heater motor working or maybe the fuse has popped.

If all the above are OK then you might need a new heater matrix or at least it needs flushing though.
Finally the heater flaps inside the car are open?

If I put the heater flap open and switch the heater valve on I don't need the heater motor on as there is easily enough heat from the air being forced into the car through the heater box.
